Greater Noida: The city is set to host a textile exhibition from March 5-6, where about 3,000 domestic and international buyers are expected to attend.

Organised by Surat Dreams, the 2nd edition (first was held in Goa) of the textile exhibition titled, International Ethnic Week 2016, will be held at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, and is expected to bring in varied business interests to the city. A fashion show will be conducted as part of the event, where top models will adorn latest ensembles from the ethnic couture.

With 108 textile manufacturers from across India showcasing their work, the fashion exposition is set to witness the participation of 2,500 domestic buyers and 500 international buyers from the UK, the US, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Africa and the Gulf countries.

"The exhibition generates an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and buyers to develop business relations. The aim of this exhibition is to promote Indian textile's brand value all over the world," said Hitesh Jain, co-founder of Surat Dreams.

Jain said with over 500 international buyers likely to visit the exhibition, "we hope to generate a profitable business relation with international market and boost the underlined ethnic art and culture of India". "This season we expect to sign MoUs worth Rs 1,000 crore. After getting an overwhelming response earlier, this year we will bring the latest trends in fashion with the perfect blend of traditional and modern western culture," he said.   According to exhibitor, Sanjay Murarka of FM Textiles and Group, Kolkata, this year the focus is on foreign buyers, which is why "we are bringing the fusion of Indo-western products and digital prints in sarees, suits and kurtis".
